About Polnox
Polnox develops high performance antioxidants that improve the performance and shelf life of a wide range of materials including plastics and elastomers, oils, lubricants and fuels, processed foods and food packaging, and other consumer goods. Polnox technologies prolong the quality and shelf life of finished products by protecting the physical and mechanical properties of these materials from thermo-oxidative processes. Longer shelf life of finished materials benefits both the manufacturer and consumer.
Since 2001, Dr. Ashok Cholli and his research team from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell have developed a new class of novel high performance material antioxidants. In 2003,, Navigator Technology Ventures, a subsidiary of Draper Laboratory provided venture funding and incorporated the technology into Polnox Corporation, located in Lowell, Massachusetts. Compared to current industry antioxidants, Polnox’s macromolecular antioxidants significantly improve material protection, while employing environmentally friendly Green Chemistry and Molecular Designing approaches. Polnox’s novel antioxidants have higher oxidative resistance, thermal stability, low to no diffusion and low volatility for plastics and elastomers, lubricants, fuels, packaging and food.
Additionally, Green Chemistry principles employed by Polnox support a new generation of products that utilize environmentally benign production processes, resulting in safer and more useful materials for both producers and consumers.
