Innovation in Design: The DT-mPM Platform
Most commercial antioxidants are mono-functional and sacrificial in nature, meaning that after participating in a single stabilization cycle they become inactive (please see the figure below). In contrast, Polnox’s proprietary Dual Type-Moiety Per Molecule or DT-mPM design platform features different types of antioxidant functional groups interacting via a unique regenerative mechanism to provide protection over multiple stabilization cycles. By proper selection of antioxidant moieties, it is possible to achieve synergistic performance enhancements of many multiples rather than incremental improvements.

A Revolutionary Approach
An example of the difference between conventional antioxidants and the Polnox DT-mPM technology is illustrated in the figure below for an antioxidant containing two different antioxidant moieties designated W1H and W2H. In contrast to conventional antioxidants, which become inactive after scavenging a single free radical, products based on the DT-mPM platform regenerate the active antioxidant functional group to scavenge additional free radicals. With proper design and engineering, antioxidants can be produced with synergistic performance enhancements of many multiples as compared to existing commercial antioxidants. It should also be noted that products designed according to DT-mPM far outperform simple mixtures of different mono-functional antioxidants.
